Tallinn has a long history as a seaside city, once trading heaven of Hanseatic League and then, during Soviet times, the city was largely cut off from it seashore for decades.
Now, especially after the European Culture Capital year in 2011, the seaside areas are waking up again – more intriguing than ever!
Discover the awaking, fresh, trendy and a bit edgy seaside area with the according cuisine: have a food-stop either at fish market or on the rooftop of legendary concert/sports venue with marvellous views to the seaside and Tallinn, walk the “Culture Mile” with en-route stop at seaside design cafe with possibility to peak into the Estonian design shop, visit the utterly cool and unique Maritime Museum at Seaplane Hangars, and taste the modern Nordic cuisine at the museum restaurant "Maru".
As an alternative to the lunch at Maritime Museum restaurant in summer months (from mid May to mid September) the tour can be extended with 2 hours sailing on Tallinn Bay on board of the historical schooner Kajsamoor. On the cruise the galley will serve you a hearty sailor’s lunch to keep you fit.
After having discovered the Old Town on your own, this tour is a perfect way to get off the beaten track, to explore the yet not so well-known local suburbs, and to be surprised!
|Tour route:||Guided transfer to the beginning of “Culture Mile” pathway followed by stroll on this seaside pathway with en-route stops at legendary concert/sports venue “Linnahall”, further passing some old factory buildings, which are nowadays here and there awakening for the new life. We will step into the Fish Market, have a food-break at Seaside Design café with possibility to peak into the Estonian design shop. Further the tour continues by passing historical Patarei Sea Fortress and finally we’ll have the entrance to Seaplane Hangars Maritime Museum accompanied by delicious 2-course meal - tour ends with guided transfer back to the Old Town or centrally located hotel|
|Alternative:||It is possible to start the tour on foot from the old town or city harbour area, to add some food-stops also in old town, or shorten the tour a bit - ask for a tailor made offer!|
|Extension:||From mid May to the mid September the tour can be extended with 2-hours sailing on Tallinn Bay on board of the historical schooner Kajsamoor. With this option the lunch at restaurant “Maru” will be substituted with lunch on the schooner|
